Happy Friday! I hope you've had a wonderful week and are gearing up for a fun or relaxing weekend. You probably have plans of hanging out with your girls/buddies and just letting loose. Let me start you off with a  #LoveNotes post. In this snippet, my heroine, Patricia, meets up with her best friend, Naaki, and well...you know what happens when girl meet. Enjoy! While surveying the selection, Patricia couldn’t hold it in any longer. “Ty stayed over last night.” Naaki grinned as though she’d expected that. “Aw, shut up,” Patricia said, which earned an even bigger grin from Naaki. “Did you two…you know?” “Is sex the only thing you think about these days?” Patricia rolled her eyes. “Yes, we ended up in bed together.” Naaki chuckled as she went for the salad. “And?” She looked at Patricia. “Come on, you’re usually more forthcoming with details.” Patricia hesitated before blurting out, “This morning he asked me to marry him.” “Ooh, that good, huh?” *** I hope yo...

I’m not in the habit of following strangers | #LAPLoveNotes #Romance #MenOfDistinction #MostEligibleBachelor

Hello folks! Welcome to another #LoveNotes post. Today, I'm sharing a snippet (unedited) from a Work In Progress, a billionaire romance - the sequel to Most Eligible Bachelor . Let me know what you think! Abrafi looked up and encountered a sharply dressed man. Early-twenties. Probably fresh out of university. He had a smoothness that reminded her of a sales man. “Please come with me,” he said and turned. “Who are you, and where are you taking me?” she asked. “I’m not in the habit of following strangers to unknown places.” “Oh, I’m sorry,” he said, sounding slightly irritated and not convincingly apologetic about his lapse in social etiquette. “I’m Joojo Kwarshie.  I’m taking you upstairs.” The boarding gates where upstairs, so this had to be good news. Right? “Where exactly?” “Look, all I know is your boss called mine, and now  my   boss  has  summoned you. I’m not in the habit of questioning his orders.” Summoned? She frowned....

Thank God restaurants didn’t set tables for one | Mr Hot Mocha Perfection by @EmpiBaryeh #LAPLoveNotes #Romance @EmpiBaryeh

Happy Saturday and welcome to #LoveNotes. I'm sharing another snippet from Mr Hot Mocha Perfection, which is featured in the Be My Valentine Anthology from Love Africa Press. This snippet continues from last week's excerpt. My hero, Adinkra, decides to invite himself to my heroine's table for lunch. Smooth moves. 😊 Happy reading! Mr Hot Mocha Perfection © Empi Baryeh 2019 She was doing a crossword puzzle in the magazine, Adinkra noted upon reaching the table. It appeared she hadn’t noticed his presence. “Hi,” he said. She raised her head and met his gaze. He didn’t miss the sharp intake of breath as recognition poured into her brown eyes. Even without the benefit of touch, awareness sizzled between them, and once again, he had to close his mind to the intimate images forming in his head. She offered a tentative smile. “Hello, Prof—uh…Adinkra.” God, his name sounded so good on her lips, he had to force himself not to think about all the things he could ...

He shouldn’t be looking at her like that | Mr Hot Mocha Perfection by @EmpiBaryeh #LAPLoveNotes #Romance #BeMyValentineLAP

It's Friday and you know what that means.  It's #LAPLoveNotes day! I'm sharing a new snippet from  Mr Hot Mocha Perfection , my novella in the  Be My Valentine Anthology  from Love Africa Press.  In this snippet, my hero and heroine have their third encounter in one day. Is it a case of fate acting in one's favour or cupid being up to no good? 😊 Happy reading! Mr Hot Mocha Perfection © Empi Baryeh 2019 He paused to enjoy the simple pleasure of watching her. She sat alone, reading a magazine. Just like in class, he could only see her sleeveless, buttoned-up top that didn’t show any cleavage but hugged her breasts in a most enticing manner. His gaze lingered there. He shouldn’t be looking at her like that; like he wanted to slowly unfasten each one of those square buttons and release her breasts to his caress. He shouldn’t want to discover how she’d respond to his touch, or the sounds she’d make if he teased her nipples with his tongue. The ti...

In her battered state, her heart had no defence against his allure | @EmpiBaryeh #LAPLoveNotes #Romance

Hello and welcome to another #LAPLoveNotes snippet. This time, I'm sharing a snippet from His Inherited Princess, (Royal House of Saene Book 2). She couldn’t allow him to kiss her as if any of what he’d said was okay with her. She’d committed herself to his brother, not to him. She willed herself to speak, or turn away, but his musky scent surrounded her, engulfed her senses, and her voice caught in her throat.

Olive-green eyes held her captive | #LAPLoveNotes #Romance @EmpiBaryeh

Happy Friday! it's #LoveNotes day again, and I'm sharing another snippet  Mr Hot Mocha Perfection , which is featured in the Be My Valentine Anthology from Love Africa Press. In this snippet, my heroine has her second encounter of the day with my hero and discovers who he is! 😊 Happy reading! Mr Hot Mocha Perfection © Empi Baryeh 2019 Ama’s eyes widened, and her heartbeat faltered as olive-green eyes held her captive. This was Professor Adinkra Kusi-Andoh? She blinked, expecting to discover she’d imagined Mr. Hot Mocha Perfection, and that the new professor of ‘Greek in the Twenty-First Century’ was instead some old coot nearing retirement. He smiled, and her breath caught. An odd yearning unfurled in her abdomen, invoking the same sensation of need that had compelled her to follow him earlier—one that had left her inexplicably giddy and hopeful. Of what, exactly, she didn’t know, but her mind had dreamt up many heart-fluttering scenarios of their second meeti...

Happy Friday! What's up for the weekend? I hope your answer includes reading. If so, let me introduce you to Love Notes from Love Africa Press. This is going to be a weekly meme where writers share six lines/sentences from a Work in Progress or published story. For my first Love Notes, I'm sharing the opening scene from my recently released novella, Mr Hot Mocha Perfection , which is featured in the Be My Valentine Anthology from Love Africa Press. In this snippet, we discover how my story got its title 😊 Enjoy! Mr Hot Mocha Perfection © Empi Baryeh 2019 It wasn’t the colour of the man’s eyes that had compelled her to ditch a late breakfast—and possibly her next lecture—in favour of stalking him. No. It was something else entirely; something she couldn’t put her finger on. Something she needed to experience again, which explained why she was hiding behind a bookshelf watching him. His skin was rich mocha perfection—he was tall, compared to her five-five fr...
