MY REVIEW

I love Olivia Gates' and the high stakes plots of her novels. The premise of this story promised the same, although it turned out not to be what I expected.

This book is filled with passion pretty much from chapter one, even though sex doesn't happen until about 70 percent into the story. And it doesn't stop (I see some of you 1-clicking).
The entire book is mostly about the physical intimacy between Rafael and Ellie. Despite the passage of time, the reader is only exposed to them in that way. I would have liked to see more of how their love grew outside the bedroom/study/kitchen (you get the point). A lot of that is skipped and treated in retrospect. In the early pages of the story, the heroine is really propped up--gaining her undergrad degree at a young age and having 2 masters' degrees etc. However, we do not get to see her in a professional setting at all to experience her brilliant brain. Also, the prologue sets up an intriguing revenge plot, which was the hero's driving force. The resolution was a little too simple for my liking.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, but it could have been so much more...
