Caine Prize for African Writing #PublishedShortStories #WritingCompetition

Hi folks!

It's been a while since I posted. I've been hiding in my editing cave polishing a story for submission. I am happy to announce that I've submitted and ready to embark on the next hero and heroine's journey.

Today, though, I'm here to mention the Caine Prize for African Writing, a registered charity whose aim is to bring African writing to a wider audience using our annual literary award. In addition to administering the Prize, the charity also works to connect readers with African writers through a series of public events, as well as helping emerging writers in Africa to enter the world of mainstream publishing through the annual Caine Prize writers’ workshop which takes place in a different African country each year.

The deadline to enter the 2019 Prize is 31st January 2019.

From what I gather, the prize is only for published, short stories (3000 - 10000 words) and can ony be submitted by a publisher.

There are extensive guidelines for entering, so check them out.

Wishing all entrants the best of luck.
