Prah, Constantine and Baryeh Reviews: Hitched by Kendall Ryan

Hey world. Happy August! If you're a Monday-is-the-first-day-of-the-week kinda person then this is probably a great month for you since the first of the month was also a Monday.
Anyway, let's get to the business at hand, which is another Prah, Constantine and Baryeh review!

Last month we chose Hitched by Kendall Ryan.

THE BLURB
Marry the girl I’ve had a crush on my whole life? Check.

Inherit a hundred-billion-dollar company? Check.

Produce an heir… Wait, what?

I have ninety days to knock up my brand-new fake wife. There’s only one problem—she hates my guts.

And in the fine print of the contract? The requirement that we produce an heir.

She can’t stand to be in the same room with me. Says she’ll never be in my bed. But I’ve never backed down from a challenge and I’m not about to start now.

Mark my words—I’ll have her begging for me, and it won’t take ninety days.

A hot and hilarious romp not to miss!

Say "I DO" to your next book boyfriend husband. (He totally wants to put a bun in her oven.)

On the heels of her smash hit and New York Times bestselling SCREWED series, Kendall Ryan brings you HITCHED, a romantic comedy that delivers heart and heat. A NYC playboy turned business mogul has ninety days to win over the woman he's always desired in order to save his father's company. One tiny problem: She hates his guts.

MY IMPRESSIONS
The good news is, book was a fast read
The bad news, it is volume 1 of 3 (not book 1 of a series as I had assumed)

That said, I enjoyed the development of the relationship between the hero and heroine, whom even though they had a history, the author didn't just assume it meant they knew everything about each other. The hero, Noah, is arrogant and entitled, but with a heart that softens those edges. I found him to be a good complement for the heroine, Olivia, who is all business and definitely needed some loosening up.

The story is told in first person narrative and 2 POVs, I didn't care too much for the use of first person narrative as it took me nearly half the book to get the hang of checking whose POV at the top of each new chapter.

I also didn't like the generous use of the F word and its cousins. In some parts of the world, swear words and colourful language may be business as usually, but this is not what I am used to, so a lot of swearing distracts me from the story as it did with this one.

Overall, I found this story to be enjoyable with believable characters whose attraction heats up, ending up in (you know I can't give away spoilers). Anyway, I will say this: the story left me wanting to see how things heat up further for Noah and Olivia as they do what needs to be done to save their company. Although I think the author should have put all three volumes into one book.

Don't forget to check out reviews from Nana Prah and Cathrina Constantine.

I bought my copy of this book from Amazon.
