Labors of Love Blog Hop 4 - 6 September #LOLHop

It's my birthday month and I thought I should celebrate, so when my friends Mona Karel and Jami Gray asked if I'd like to join the Labors of Love Blog Hop, I said YEA! As always, celebration author style means you get the gifts. From today 4th - 6th September we're giving away awesome prizes.

We are calling it “Labors of Love” because (for those in the US), it's Labor Day weekend and it's always a good time to talk about love and romance. We also have an event page on Facebook.

For most authors, choosing a favourite book is like asking someone to pick a favourite child. There are different things to like about each story/character/setting, but they all end up at an equal level in an author's heart.

Whatever the case, HEAs are a result of heart-breaking work, and this Labor Day weekend, we are celebrating our written labors of love by giving our readers a chance to win:
  • 1st Prize: a brand-spankin' new Kindle with our personal bests.(That's right, you could win all of our books!)
  • 2nd Prize: $30 GC
  • 3rd Prize: $15 GC

I'm choosing to share my WIP, EXPECTING TY'S BABY, Book 2 of the 'From Ghana with Love" series, because it has been tougher to write than expected. Ty and Pat feature in Chancing Faith, and even though they both only have small roles in Book 1, I loved them both and it was clear they were into each other, so I thought why not make it a happily ever after? Easier said than done!
BUT slowly Ty and Pat's story has unfolded and ... well, what I can say about ETB is that is definitely spicier than Chancing Faith.

Here a look inside Expecting Ty's Baby

“Are you hungry?”
She turned away from the door, and nearly smashed into Ty who stood right behind her. No traces of the playfulness from earlier in the day or the concern he’d shown just moments earlier remained in his eyes. He gave her a full blown I-want-to-devour-you look and suddenly the room that could comfortably seat some twenty or so people felt too small. Her breathing spiked, her pulse raced.
Everything she’d ever felt for Ty came rushing at her all at once.
“I’m hungry for you,” he said.
He closed the space between them, pinning her to the door with his body. A shudder stole through her at the contact. When his lips descended on hers, it was like nothing she’d ever felt—not even with Ty. Before today, his kiss had been like a fountain pouring on the parched lands of her lips, his touch like a flame singeing her skin, his tongue like a wand forged with the power to make her think of nothing except him. Everything before today paled in comparison to the upheaval her body experienced now.
Whereas usually she remained conscious of her actions, giving as much as she got, teasing and enjoying being teased, this time she couldn’t think, couldn’t function. Passion burned within her like an unquenchable flame, leaving nothing untouched . With a hungered moan, she sank against the solid expanse of his chest, her hands roving every part of him she could touch in silent adoration of his sheer masculinity.
He released her lips, left her gasping as he tongued his way to her neck. His hand slipped underneath her blouse, found one of her breasts and released it from the confines of her bra.
Have I whetted your appetite yet? While we all wait for ETB to take its first published breath, you can get started on the series with Chancing Faith (Book 1).

Blurb

He didn’t do short term relationships…
American ad exec, Thane Aleksander, doesn’t date co-workers either—until business takes him to Ghana, West Africa, and he meets Naaki. Now he’s at risk of breaking all the rules. Can he stop this headlong fall before it’s too late?

Until he met her!
Naaki Tabika has a burning need to prove, to herself and to others, that she’s more than wife and mother material. To do so, she’s prepared to give up everything for her job. Meeting Thane, however, makes her want to get personal. But falling for her boss could destroy her career. Will she be willing to risk it all for the one thing that can make her truly happy?

Two divergent cultures, two different races, two career-driven professionals, only one chance at true love—will they find the faith to take it, or will their hearts be sacrificed on the altar of financial success?
