🔥Excerpt🔥

She was the most beautiful creature I’ve ever laid eyes on—my wife, my Alicia. God, I was one lucky bastard. Her soft brunette hair cascaded over the front of her shoulder and across her slender neck as her chest gently rose and fell with each breath. The sun coming up over the Tasman Sea etched her silhouette, making her look like an angel with a halo.

I could watch her sleep for hours, but desire stirred inside me. I need to be one with her. Running my fingers along her bare shoulder and down her arm, Alicia moaned with pleasure. A small smile crept upon her face. “Morning,” she whispered opening her eyes.

“Morning Love,” I smiled back. Pulling the sheet down around her waist, I wet my lips with anticipation.

“What are you waiting for?” she teased pulling me closer and giving me a kiss that took my breath away. I crawled on top of my wife, feeling her soft, warm body underneath me. Instinctively she opened her legs and wrapped them around my thighs. I didn’t need foreplay to get me in the mood. A smile and that look was all I needed. Slowly I slipped inside Alicia and moved in and out with languid stokes. “I love you,” I muttered between soft kisses to her neck.

“I love you so much,” she whispered back, as she intertwined her fingers through my hair.

Rolling her over so she was straddled on top of me. I gazed at her beauty. She was my heaven on earth. It were as if God made her just for me. She was the missing piece I didn’t know I was searching for all those years after Emily’s death. All those drunken nights, smokey bars, lose women. They were a way to numb my pain. When Alicia entered my life, it was like waking up from hibernation. My senses came alive. She inspired me to write new music for the band. She gave me the courage to grab the brass ring. She made it okay to be happy again. I had loved Emily with all my heart, but Alicia shook me to my soul. She was my everything and I would die for her.

Burn For You is a story set in New Zealand and told from the POV of Hunter, the hero, a member of  A rock band, Tia Symphony, that’s about to hit it big. Hunter is at a stage in his life where the band isn’t the most important thing in his life. His main conflict comes from trying to satisfy or not let down his band mates – especially Tia whom I believe the band is named after- or his new wife, Alicia.

When I read the blurb, I expected a ménage, but I’ll make it clear right away - it’s a not a ménage. That is not to say there aren’t any hot sex scenes. Hunter and Alicia burn up the pages with some hot sex.

Though short, the story is able to take Hunter through a transition where the reader experiences the unrest within himself as he struggles with the decision of where his next step should take him. The relationship between Hunter and Alicia is also strong and sweet. Alicia is very supportive of her husband – definitely his number one fan.
I also liked the New Zealand setting as it was different. The dialogue fit the setting, IMO.

There’s no real romantic conflict as the story isn’t about Hunter and Alicia trying to overcome any obstacles to be together. Neither is there any apparent attraction between Hunter and bandmate, Tia.

So although, Burn For You can be read as a stand-alone, it more of a feel-good sequel for readers who have read By My Side, which is the story of how Hunter and Alicia met.

My biggest beef with the story was poor editing. There were way too many typos, which got distracting.
